aomame, which in Japanese means “green pea”, is filled with a laid back atmosphere and they invite the listener into an informal universe with nostalgia, daydreams and chill vibe.
aomame consists of Clara and August – a sibling duo who attempt to stick together while early adult life causes a natural separation. In the beginning of the project their work happened across Northern Europe where August sent lofi hip hop beats from Amsterdam all the way to Claras undramatic but expressive vocals in Copenhagen. Today the duo is reunited in Denmark and they’re ready to conquer the twilight hours with their reflective, calm and mellow lofi universe, spiced with bedroom pop and R&B elements.
aomame released their first EP ‘weak eyes’ in 2019 and have since then released the EP ‘so sorries’ in 2021. Three out of their six released songs received airplay on Danish radio station P3. Additionally the duo played alongside a live band at RUST and Byhaven, they were also booked to play at Carpark Festival, SPOT Festival 2020 and 2021, alongside the Danish record label CphChill’s ‘Lofi Hiphop-Søndag’ The single ‘go 2nite’ was placed on playlists such as Spotify’s ‘Lotus-playlist’, Apple Music's ‘New Music Daily’ og YouSee’s ‘New Releases’.
Their 2021 EP ‘so sorries’ received a five-star review from Danish magazine GAFFA.
