O/RIOH's music can’t be categorized by genre. Her music is defined by it’s energies – from euphoria and happiness to anger and frustration, and therefore Rikke Østergaard, the name behind O/RIOH finds inspiration in both pop guru Justin Bieber and feminist rapper Peaches. With heavy electronic beats, autotune-distorted vocals and lyrics about sex, money, exhaustion, and everything in between, O/RIOH wants the listener to find recreation for both body and mind.
Rikke Østergaard is a songwriter, producer and owns her own record company, Cech Records. She is determined to work in the music industry on her own terms, and it allows her to make music that is honest, uncompromising, and dares to challenge norms. O/RIOH has had a leading role in the Danish movement Musikbevægelsen af 2019, who works for equality and representation in the Danish Music industry, and she also created the initiative ‘We’re Here’ that aims to create visibility for LGBTQ+-artist.
O/RIOH has played SPOT Festival in 2019 and she was nominated for a Gaffa Award in the category ‘Danish Electronic Record of The Year’ in 2018.
