What inspired you to write the song?

"Something to you is about my relationship with my father. Unfortunately, a relationship that has been marked by failure and a feeling that he never got to say that he loves me, even though we have been through difficult times together. That is why I remember even on a daily basis, how incredibly important it is to speak openly about what you feel in your close relationships. That you dare to open your mouth and be vulnerable to those you care about. Although it is not always words that create a feeling of love or acceptance, together with loving actions they can make a huge difference to the person who receives them. The lack of those words has affected my self-esteem and the way I looked at myself when I was younger and it still sticks deep inside. I never want to pass that on to others."

What do you want a listener to get out of hearing the song?

“I want the listener to hear the song, and think about the relationships that matter most to them. And most of all, that the listener can be helped to feel that it is in its place and sometimes necessary to speak openly and directly to others. Setting boundaries and opening up to your own needs. The music floats in a gloomy and purposeful energy that is released in the chorus. To me, the chorus represents justice and self-care."

How does the song relate to Kamma's universe?

“Something to you is about knowing your own vulnerability, and daring to show it. Kamma represents a life with many emotional ups and downs by virtue of a sometimes very painful past. This story is represented in different ways in my songs. With Something to you, I have written a track that gives me the courage to take control of my own life. To say out loud - that I want more from those I stand close to. Kamma allows me to explore the ups and downs and really express where in the process I am. Although I'm still close to the pain I've experienced, Something to you is an expression of growing and hopefully getting closer to being able to feel what you need."

Is there anything else that you think is important to highlight about the song?

“The song contains both a gloomy and a sad note, which at the same time becomes something strong and liberating. The dynamic of the track and the small subtleties of the production provides an energy that both makes me want to drive along a coastline and go for long walks late at night."
